Aftercare is an essential step to maximizing the benefits of your Skin Laundry facials. Our team of medical professionals took great care to develop our pre and post-treatment recommendations to help you maximize your results & maintain your glow at home.
Signature Laser & Carbon Laser facials
Our ND:Yag Laser just stimulated the collagen under the surface of your skin, breaking up pigment and zapping away dirt, oil and inflammation. To protect your complexion while your facial benefits continue to take effect, we have applied Skin Laundry’s Mineral Defense Sunscreen with SPF 30 on your skin.
TIPS FOR TODAY:
- Please continue to reapply 30+ SPF every 2 hours, even if you are planning to be inside
- If you apply makeup or plan to exercise, please thoroughly cleanse your skin with a gentle cleanser to remove dirt, sweat, makeup, or bacteria immediately afterwards to avoid blocking your newly laundered pores.
- Hold off on any physical exfoliation of the treated area until tomorrow, particularly if you typically use a brush or scrubber, or any cleansers with harsher particles.
- Wait a day to use any active topical products such as Vitamin C, retinol, etc.) to reduce your chance of dryness, especially if your skin is still adjusting to a newer product.
PLEASE AVOID:
- Direct sun exposure.
- Any new or unfamiliar products (especially without consulting your nurse or doctor first).
- Touching or picking at your skin.
* Just to be super clear - if you’ve had our Ultra Duo Laser Facial, please do follow the Fractional Laser facial tips, though you have also received a Signature Laser Facial, to take some incremental time to be more gentle to your skin for the best results.
Fractional Laser & Ultra Duo Laser facials*
Our fractional treatment has created microchannels in your skin to stimulate collagen production and allow your skin to absorb about 90% more skincare product than usual. Your nurse has applied a custom medical-grade serum for your skin concerns to achieve your desired results while your pores are most receptive. Note we did not apply sunscreen so as not to obstruct these new channels from absorbing the prescribed serum.
TIPS FOR TODAY:
- Reapply your medical-grade serum to the treated area every hour for 6 hours following your facial. After the 6 hours, maintain a gentle skincare routine until your skin calms.
- Beginning 6 hours after treatment, apply a gentle emollient ointment, such as Aquaphor to help soothe the skin if you experience sensitivity, dryness, or flakiness. May we recommend our Vitamin B5 Antioxidant Moisturizer?
- Wait 24 hours post-treatment to use any cleanser, and only use gentle skincare products until your skin restores itself to baseline feeling.
- Ask your Registered Nurse any questions– don’t be shy, that’s what they do!
PLEASE AVOID:
- For the next day, avoid excessive heat exposure such as a very hot shower, sauna or steam room; excessive sweating; and using SPF, as each could clog your now freshly-opened pores.
- For the next two days, steer clear of makeup, abrasive or exfoliating cleansing tools, that could irritate your freshly-revealed skin
- For the next week, we advise shading your treated areas from direct sun exposure, or any UV-rays, as well as using any unfamiliar new skincare products
- Always resist touching or picking at your skin!
- For the next 3 days, avoid using retinol.

What to expect immediately after your first session? Redness and some mild irritation.
